Life happens again as AC compressor clutch gave out today. New one should be here Friday.
I've been playing Chicken with mine for a while now, it'll give up soon, knowing my luck.
A safety tip in the form of The Seventh Commandment of the Electrical Engineer: Work thou not on energized equipment for if thou doest so, thy friends will surely be buying beers for thy widow and consoling her in certain ways not generally acceptable to thee.

Thankfully we only saw 96, but that was enough.

Head up to elevation? Our ac clutch died on the way to the airport on a 100 degree day . It looked like I had swam in!

A/C repaired, wife says this old Jeep is now worth more than me. She's probably correct. :-\

A note on upgrades, went with ceramic pads when replacing brakes, love them.

Well, took granddaughters on a fishing trip to Taylor reservoir, spent 2 days getting rained on, 2"rain in 48 hours, that is a lot in CO. Jeep performed great. Up and over Monarch pass, no problem. Getting through the muddy lake access roads, no problem. Coming back out of mountains into heat again, A/C worked great. Side trip over skyline drive, scared the younger girl, but no problem. Stopped at store in Canon city to get some snacks (about 30 miles from home) and starter went out. Nobody in that town had one. Ended up calling a tow truck for last 30 miles home. Got a call from guy I was looking at buying the pontoon boat from, and he sold it to a friend. All in all, kind of a disappointing end to a fun trip. Good side is the girls had fun. Now I'm off to pull out a starter. Life happens...
