So over the weekend Jrainman13 and I set out to confirm a route that I have been studying for a while.
Well I will save you the story and the suspense. The powers that be like to gate things off left and right in NC and SC. We where told that you can run the route but at the state line the gate is always closed from either direction. We could not access the Sc side at all. The highlights from the NC side where a bear bait station and a downed tree that we spent an hour clearing the trail. The road is 6.6 miles to.the river campsite and is well worth the drive.
