A moderate Gladiator that needs to be paid off

I figured I'd start this to keep it out of my TJ thread.

It's definitely not getting anything crazy until it's paid off. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and have added a tonneau and the Rubicon take off rock rails - both on fb marketplace (tonneau was $100, rails were $50).

It's a 2020 Sport w/45k miles, with the max tow package and a decent set of options with power windows, heated seats & steering wheel and the 7" screen.

Not sure if I'll go to 33s from someone's take offs or go to a 265/70/17 or similar. I really like how it drives with the 245/75/17 and the 4.10s.

Also, there's a small leak from either the trans pan or the transfer case where it meets the trans. I know from reading a bit that the input seal on the t case is a common culprit.

I did get an extended warranty but not sure if it's enough seepage that they'll cover it or if I should just do it myself. We'll see. I'll just keep an eye on it.

Edit: I keep forgetting, the mfg warranty for powertrain is 5yr/60k

A little irritated with the dealer, but dealers will be dealers. They clearly cleaned up the leaks enough to not notice for selling it.

When going into the online scheduler for service, it recommends the leaks as recommended diagnosis services (recommended from last visit).

I don't see how these leaks (drivers side center of the engine, passenger side rear of engine, and the transmission) aren't under the factory powertrain warranty?

I also have an extended warranty that is supposed to cover seals and gaskets.

Taking it on tomorrow for diagnosis so I can pick it back up by end of day to take to the office Tues. Then hopefully scheduling the fix under warranty.

I don't think any mfg is immune to these leaks and other stupid issues since covid, though.

Nice looking Gladiator , hope yours treats you well as mine. Hate that the dealer seems to have tried to sneak one by.
Thanks. I'm really liking it so far. The dealers all suck. At least this one gave me some killer deals on parts for my first TJ when I was in high school & college. Hopefully the warranty part isn't a pita.

The max tow was a big plus on this one over some new '23s in my area and was cheaper by enough. Hopefully getting these leaks sorted doesn't cost me.

The max tow has a lot of super valuable options to me, especially considering the gearing should do well if I go to 33s and I wouldn't be on 35s for a long time if at all

Jeep is at the dealer, so hope they can take care of this. They confirmed it is still in the mfg powertrain warranty.

Something encouraging is the service manager I know from back when I was in high school. If needed, I can reach out to him if they are a pita

Jeebus , its reached maturity early compared to its peers!
It really seems the way of manufacturing & supply chain these days.

I picked it up Friday morning and hopefully that's all the leaks for a good, long time. Cleaned it today and watching takeoff tires on marketplace.

I'm somewhat thinking the factory 33s won't be bad. The 4.10 gearing shouldn't be bad with 33s.

If not, I may just end up with 265/70/17 when I replace them. We'll see. I want to do some wheeling when I can and the 31s keep that belly pretty low.
