Ok , finally have time to talk about Hannah's new rig. It is a 2002 Pearl steel blue Sport TJ with 81k miles. It is very clean other than a little surface rust on the frame that we are working on .
We already drilled the drain hole in the frame and cleaned out what little gunk was in there. We have washed, buffed and waxed it so now it looks blue again instead of grey. We also removed most of the stickers on it as we are going to make it a Hannahs Islander edition. Hannah put on all new wiper blades and cleaned out the interior and then she removed the chrome nerf bars and tow bar assembly.
Below is the list of what's next.
Change oil , valve cover , rear main seal and base pan gasket.
Replace sway bar end link
Lift kit , wheels and tires 32" or 33" inch tops
Soft top frame and soft top
Repaint the cowl as it has bizarre scratches
This is when we agreed to buy it after the test drive. Hannah found this a day after I looked at it. I was not interested as it was not an LJ , but Hannah called me up excited about another Jeep for the first time since I brought Blurpie home years ago. It runs and drives great and the previous two owners had really done a good job maintaining it.
Checking out the Brute, guess which one skipped leg day!
In the garage , had to put the Unicorn out in the weather!
I used a sticker eraser wheel and the buffer to get rid of the stickers and left over adhesive.
We both ran the buffer and started out with Pace medium cut then moved to the polishing head and polishing cream. It took two days on and off but the paint mostly came back to life.
More to come once we get the white XJ buttoned up and off to its new home.
