I know we have several members up in NC, so I wanted to extend this invitation.

My wife and I will be taking a road trip from TX to NC from roughly Oct 20- Oct 27. I'm still working on the details, but we will be around the Pisgah NF, Natahala NF, and Asheville. I do know that we will be running Hurricane Creek Trail off of i40 near Harmon Den Wildlife Management Area. There will be lots of camping and good times, all are welcome to tag along. I will add the full trip itinerary once it gets a little more solid.

Beautiful area.  I've been meaning to run Hurricane Creek for a while; maybe I'll have the chance to come hang out for a bit.

We will make specific plans to run Hurricane Creek with you. It's a neat place.  8)  There's good Mex eats in Asheville to finish off the evening, depending on where you are landing for the night.

[member=35]Cervesadiablo[/member] will most likely go and we will try to make it up as well.

Let us know the specific itinerary, please; there were tentative plans for a late-October ramble in the western hills, so we might be able to make that coincide.

No rush.  Hitting the forest roads in that area at that time is something Annabelle and I had discussed once or thrice, and that's been the extent of it, thus far.

Nothing like having company coming to get a body up and planning!

Haven't had a chance to sit back down and really think about where to go next, but here is the itinerary thus far. Nothing is set in stone, so suggestions definitely welcome. Keep in mind that any restaurants or places we go will need to be dog friendly as out GSD pup, and maybe a second pup by then will be with us.

Most of my favorite spots are near the Blue Ridge Parkway North of Asheville: Mount Mitchell, Linville Gorge, and Table Rock (not to be confused with Lookout Mountain).  The Linville Gorge Wilderness area has a quite a few trails and sights to see.

Is that the 20 mile in and out site?

Just curious, I assume those who are going to meet up with us are just meeting up for Hurricane Trail day? You're more than welcome to tag along for any number of days, or the whole trip. But I guess what I need to know is how many think they would want to camp with us on Wednesday Oct 24th into Thursday. That way I can look for a spot large enough to accommodate all of us.
