So was that single stage?  Or base / clear......  and under what circumstances of you have have to sand and buff new paint?  Didn't you color sand Beasley's?

That was waterborne base coat with an activated clear coat.  My first experience with waterborne base coat.  It's a little slower than a solvent base coat.  But clean up is with a water hose.  So if you get it on you or when you clean your equipment you can use straight water.  The clear gun will have to be cleaned up with thinner or reducer as normal.

I only sand and polish stuff I want better than a factory finish.  Beasleys I took a step further and sanded the cured clear coat and re shot it with another 2 coats of clear to give it that WET look.  Normally I just denib or remove the little dirt that I get in the finish and polish only those spots.  I can usually get a almost flawless finish that needs very little polishing straight out of the spray gun.

And you want to change the hood.  Silly Beasley...
Thats the reason I havent ordered the louvers yet , but I am going to have to do it soon . It will be a hurtful day for me when I cut the hood .

Want me to do it for you? :D

Also, you're free to borrow my hole cutter if you don't already have one; it makes a conventional hole saw look like a bad joke.

It's "SimCard"... and yeah, the TCT cutter is the shiznittlebomb when it comes to holing a TJ hood.

I wish you lived closer, or I lived closer. Either way, my Jeep needs some body and paint issues to be dealt with.
Enjoy Florida, because that is even further for paint.
