2017 Teryx 4 "The Wifes" (Shhh)

The other Greg
Got this awhile back, basically brand new Teryx 4 seater, 800cc engine, all stock except for bumpers and winch.  My wife likes driving it around when we both go 4wheeling, and I'll take it out every now and then as well since most of our friends we wheel with have side by sides.  We took it out stock for a few times, it did really well, I was happy with the performance, and Kawasaki is known to be high quality/long lasting.  Only issue we hit was scrapping the skid plates a lot, and poor ground clearance with the 27" stock tires.  Most of the new side by sides are putting 30+ tires on as well, so it was harder for her to keep up, and she had driven my old RZR with a long travel suspension and 30s before, so she wanted it to be more like that.

I ordered up 30" tires and new wheels, a super atv 6" lift kit (this will get interesting i promise), Rhino 2.0 axles, 2" bracket lift, a car muffler, and a few other minor accessories.

Reasons for the 6" lift:  It comes with new A arms that are 3 inches wider per side, and gain an additional 2.5-3" of wheelbase.  Now I dont want to run that much lift, so I of course modified it a little.  End goal is 2" lift/mid travel setup.  The rear was easy, I was able to use the 2" brackets with the A-arms and shocks, everything lined up perfect.  Front was more complicated, the 2" brackets did not work with the shock/A-arm setup, so i cut down the 6" brackets, redrilled the shock mounting hole, and was able to get it first try to sit level.  I ended up gaining 4" of ground clearance, and a few inches more of wheel travel (more in the rear, front ball joints limit travel).  The car muffler was added to quiet it down while doing easy riding, as side by sides are really loud...this makes it easier to talk while trail riding.

Also added Kid's racing seat with harness so our little dude can start riding with us (mostly just around the neighborhood, but we have gotten out once and did some trail riding with him.

Some wheeling pics... have yet to get stuck or break anything... certainly not the fastest side by side but a nice rugged tail machine.  I have also helped fix a friends canam, winched him and another friend in a rzr pro xp, which they hated lol.

Love how it turned out.  Went from looking like a rental to racer  👍

I've been helping my dad sort out some stuff on his older rzr during this quarantine business and I had no idea they were this much fun.

I worked on UTVs for a few years. They're a bundle of fun and handle way better than they should

Thanks guys, we are having fun with this one.  Few more mods to get us up to date....

Bit more info on performance:  topped it out stock at 55mph, with larger tires I think it will just touch 50 now.  I have yet to get into the cvt, but I've already talked to a company that modifies them to bring it back in the power band.  That will help with launching/slow to medium riding, and engine braking.  Potentially if I tuned it and removed limiter I could touch 60-65mph, but that's not what I am building it for.

Did a guy's weekend few weeks back, before every one had to self quarantine.  Snowed on the way up and for part of the first day,  pretty cool to see.  Can am broke axle shaft doing a hill climb, winched it up a tree as a 'jack', and got it going again with 3 wheel drive.  Backstory on the nasty natty...i told my buddy to grab some cheap beer when he went to the store...i meant bud light or similar.  He decided Natty light, which everyone refused to drink lol.  We then played the game of sneaking it into each others vehicles/hiding it so someone would end up with it after the trip.  That someone was me, dang it!

Last time I encountered a case of these, we used them as mortar shells in a campfire... That was a fun time.

They make a loud boom and will shoot up a few feet , or at least thats what I have heard :D

Getting up to date now, adding tube up front, and working on custom fender flares, tired of the mud.

Went out to wife's uncle's farm, he's got 200+ acres, some trails in woods, horses, donkeys, ponds with fish,  e.t.c.  Got to test out front flares,  working great.  Now i need to figure out the rears.
