98 TJ Take 3 or 4 or something

No pics, but a little wrenching today.

Saw an LJ on the side of the road with a wheel mostly off and 4 sheered wheel studs. Older guy with a dog and no cell phone.

Went home and to napa for tools and parts & got the guy back on the road pretty quick.

Not sure how he didn't feel the vibration beforehand, but idk maybe it all happened crazy quickly.

That was very cool of you!

I'm using some pto this week and working on the coffee space cleanup and build. It makes a huge difference being right around home for a repair like that. That guy could've been waiting a while, but it was only an hour or so out of my day.

I've been a way a while. This happened tonight. I still have the TJ

The max towing package was a big draw to getting this one.

It also has the convenience package and cold weather package which is nice for my back (even though it's crazy hot here) - heated seats on a sore back are great.

I'll get more pics up tomorrow.

I'm also back in the mini game - the green one is the main one and the silver one behind it is the parts car for it. I can't deny how much I love being in Jeeps and Minis.

Here's a video of the TJ actually getting on the road for the first time since I bought it pretty much.

The 2.5 has good compression, so I'm going to get it driving as is. The last year or so:
-Metalcloak control arms finally installed (still have the front lowers to install)
-BDS 2.5" lift finally installed
-New injectors
-New fuel pump (again as the cheapo one crapped out)
-New fuel damper at the fuel rail (the old one turned to flame thrower mode and had a ton of crud in it so I replaced the whole thing)
-New plugs again
- Rear Dana 44 installed
-oe replacement motor mounts
-alternator & belt
-new cat as the old one was apparently Bluetooth
-Magnaflow muffler (the generic one just welded in)
-B&M shifter on the ax5
-Tailgate replaced with a non cracked one
-Receiver/hitch installed

I'll get some pics of said work up soon

Tj first trip out

Finally got the frameless top swapped. The new fabric pulled the door surrounds in a bit and there is a gap between the door and the surround. I think this is due to my aftermarket cage up front, but this jeep isn't 100% straight either, as I lined up the cage pretty close to the oem front bars and test fitted the surrounds during the cage install.

I added more weather stripping tonight though.

The previous owner of the mini trashed the bolt in the crank. I'm surprised the pulley was still on there. There were only 2 or 3 threads barely engaged. Cleaned out the threads in the crank though.

Took a few mins tonight to start stripping the ZJ engine bay a little, so I can pull the 5.2L.

I sprayed 1 wasp nest ahead of time. There were 4 more I found. Thankfully I had more spray ready.

Also added these reverse lights. They'll likely end up in the bumper or under. But wanted to try them out. They're pretty bright for $12 or whatever they were on Amazon.
