Bob's boring build

My A/C is out too, i think I have a pretty sizable leak but haven?t tried dye yet. Whats the method for pressure testing the condenser?

I'm going to remove it from the jeep, stick it in a tub of water, put a rubber tipped air nozzle in one end and plug the other, see if I get bubbles. I lose freon in about 3 weeks, so it should be a sizable leak. It's been to 3 different AC shops with dye in the system and they can't find the leak, so if it's not the condenser, I get to rip a dash out.

Mine was in the lines.  The factory crimp was failing.  I had to charge it every summer... been 2-3 now since it was repaired.
Pro tip:  mark the lines at the fittings so they will be clocked the same way.  My mechanic had new ends attached to my factory lines and said if you don?t do this they won?t lay correctly.

Post Rubicon carnage. All in all not so bad for a low lift, small tire rig with no lockers.

The weather wasn't exactly on our side, so that added to the difficulty.

How much tougher was it in the snow snot?

Little slippery, but the worst was the lack of visibility cause the windows kept fogging up. The KO2's did remarkably well. Had to pull cable to get up the slabs. Just too slick and wet. We had to go up Cadillac in the rain too. Good spotters and some well placed lines was the order of the day.

Exploratory surgery. Ok vibes, come out, come out where ever you are!

You making the adjustments? Dear lord I hope this is it .

Nope. Throwing in the towel. No, I'm not selling it just yet. Taking it to a pro next month for new gears, a Eaton TT, and Revo Chromos. Everything new except the housing. If this doesn't do it, the next purchase will be a "FOR SALE" sign.

Been a while since I've updated. The rear diff refresh was done, and very trying. The shop I took it to is a 5 hour round trip. I dropped it off, picked it up a few days later, and the jeep sounded like a howling monkey. They asked if I could drive the 500 mile break in and see if it quiets up. Nope! It didn't. Another 5 hour round trip back to the shop it went. They re-re-did the gears, Another 5 hour trip to pick it up and it was quiet. Didn't fix the vibes though. New gears, new Detroit TT, new Revo Chromo shafts, w/new bearings, virtually all internals replaced.
Ended up dialing in the rear pinion a bit more and most vibes are gone until above 65 mph.
Fast forward to last month. Howling monkeys returned. Suspected the outer pinion bearing. Pulled the yoke and seal to get to the bearing.

The rear ujoint on the read ds had some scoring on one of the caps, so I replaced that as well. Not sure if it added to the vibes, but I won't know for sure until the hard top goes back on for winter. Too much other noise going on with the soft top, or no top. Sadly, the smoke has been so bad from the fires, the top has been up since early July. The Caldor fire is only 12 miles south of Lake Tahoe right now, and the Dixie fire is headed to Shasta.
In other jeep news, I ordered the Swayloc.
