98 TJ Take 3 or 4 or something

I had JK shocks on mine for a minute with a 2? spacer lift.
You could always get some rear lower shock extenders for the time being.

Yeah, I may do that for now. I just need to see what my setup is going to look like with bumpers (nothing heavy) and any armor.

I don't want to put money into shocks until I get all that stuff sorted out

I did a pseudo outboard on mine....  buried somewhere towards the end of my build thread New to me TJ
I?ve wheeled quite a bit on the current setup and can?t complain.

I will have to take a look at that

Busy weekend, but will be doing some Jeep stuff.

Still taking it somewhat easy on my back, but drilled the Knuckles, and got some of the tie rod and drag link setup. Need to go pickup a 33mm socket for the pitman arm as that's just getting replaced back to stock.

I may have used *some* anti seize.

Between work and a medical thing, I've not been working on it much, but put some time in today.

I am liking those flat fender lines  😀

It'll happen. I didn't know MCEs were so cheap now, so those will be on my list, but still going to homemade chop first.

Drove the Jeep today and broke down about a mile away. It was right after getting gas and it started up after sitting for 10 mins, then drove home.

Still getting a whirring noise/vibration from the driveline under load above 15-20mph. Seems to stay the same above that and hard to feel at 40mph.

Not sure what to check first?

Trying not to put any money into the Dana 35, but we'll see.

Some things.

Will upload a video later. The rear pinion has a tiny bit of play and the front pinion has a lot of play.

I'll pull the front diff cover this week and see if it looks bad in there.

Removed 7 front driveshaft bolts. The 8th has a rounded head, presumably from some redneck and an electric impact. Not sure how they even rounded it off so much.

All well, I'll cut the head off this week or weld another bolt to it. May even just weld and extension to it

Took the front driveshaft out after when. The one bolt and cap are still in there, but the DS is out.

Also chopped a fender. I have to do the other side and all the finishing work.

I have a ton of other stuff to get done on all the cars, but it only took a few mins to chop chop

I love that version of chop!

Thanks, me too. Probably keeping the fender support and painting it black like I did before. I like to kneel on them and lean on them when working on the Jeep. I don't weigh a lot, but still

Still have to paint and do the touch up stuff. Looks good in person. Looks a little goofy in the pics sans bumper and with the little tires.
