Farm truck and tow rig

A friend once told me that his '03 (7.3l, manual trans, Aluminum tray bed, same wheels as yours) clocked in at 8900lbs unloaded...

...I never saw a weight slip to verify that, but it definitely strained a 9000lb two-post lift.

Im looking at lifts at rated at 10k just for an extra buffer.

H&S intake installed... full FloPro turbo back exhaust is up next.

Got the exhaust knocked out... forgot it was easier to go through fender to get down pipe back on turbo pedestal so i wasted 20 mins messing with it from above and below.  Anyways,  turbo back 4" flo pro with mbrp tip, sounds great just a tad louder than stock and can definitely hear the turbo better now.  If there is too much drone it will be super easy to pop a pipe out and replace with resonator as it's all slip fit.

Dash pod came in, got it installed and wires hidden.  I also re-sealed the cab lights and added sealant to the bolt holes, should take care of the sun visor peeing on me when it rains.  Slowly getting settled over here, but i am at least to a point i can tackle small jobs like this over my lunch break (if i can find the tools i need).

Yup.

Sw1, 30hp with extra timing.  Being friendly to the completely stock Trans.  Next up is resolving drive shaft vibes,  carrier bearing is toast, i can push it up and down quite a bit.

My old dodge ate two carrier bearings over 315,000 miles while I had it.  I guess that is to be expected though.

Carrier bearing is going away, going to 1 piece aluminum shaft and upgrading to 1480 rear u joint. Just need to confirm length and I'll be ordering asap.

In other news... lol 'new' seats.  2011 mint crew cab seats from a 1500.  Fronts are basically direct bolt in, rears require more work.  I am swapping the 2011 seats onto the 04 brackets, one hole on each side must be extended for it to line up, and all must be drilled out a bit.  I've got the split rear 40 seat complete, there is also 1 bracket on rear cab that needs to move over about 3 or 4 inches, i will get to that when i pull the other half of the bench out.

Color is an OK match, both front seats are power, heated and cooled, rears are heated as well.
Working on figuring out wiring now.  Swapped 3rd gen seat belt clip to 4th gen seat, plugs right in, so i can at least drive it like this.  4th gen seats are ridiculously comfortable and the bolstering is a lot better.  If i can find a 4th gen jump seat that matches I'll go with that, if not i have found brackets that bolt in that i can make the 3rd gen jump seat work.

Look at all the crap under a 4th gen seat... anyways, i cut out 3rd gen seat harness,  and just by attaching power and ground i have all seat movement controls.  Pic of wires if anyone is interested...

Donaldson oil filter,  Baldwin fuel filter, and 12 qts of shell Rotella T4 put in.  Apparently He-Man put on the dang oil filter before me, took awhile to get off even with a wrench.

Donaldson is good stuff , where did you find it? I have always had to order it as no one around here stocks it .

Amazon, you can get a 3 pack for 42 bux, it's also where i order the fuel filters.  They usually have them on prime too.

I placed an order for my new rear drive shaft, and also ordered a universal switch system from S-Tech.  I like there stuff and have one in my TJ, quite a bit cheaper than switch pro.  This will be used to power both front seat coolers, and potentially a small light bar up front and extra reverse light's.  Seat heaters are harder to figure out as the computer modulates the voltage, i am looking around for a generic controller now.

Back in the shop working on the seats.  Forgot to mention this little black spacer which needs to be swapped from 4g to 3g seats.  I also moved the hooks up about .5 to 1 inch for a more secure latch in the upright position.  Only thing left to do is fiddle with it some more to allow it to lean back more.  Me and little man will be riding in style tomorrow on the way home from school lol.

Ok, cleaned up shop some more so i could have space to work, and over lunch today started back on the interior.  To get the seats to lean back further you have to cut the 4th gen seat back bracket.  It's pretty easy, just chop off the tang, and cut out a space where the bolt holes are.  This allows seat to fully rest back against rear cab and provides a very comfortable seating position.  Since i was tearing everything out anyways i figured I'd go ahead and throw sound deadening down.  I should have that wrapped up tonight and now that i know the steps ill knock out the other half of split bench as well.
