Farm truck and tow rig

Double layered the trans tunnel and added some left over dynaliner padding i had, got everything back together and now i have a three seater.  I did get both front seats hooked up now as well so both are powered and took care of the seat belt light finally.

Tried the other method to get 4th gen seats into a 3rd gen... this time by cutting the 4th gen brackets and drilling new hole.  I think i like swapping brackets better.  Anyways, all done and cleaned.  Jump seat mods coming soon!

Took the RV up the road to the dump station, been needing to do it for a few weeks.  We are only 1 mile away from a state park with a campground so very convenient.  Plan to bring the rv to my wifes uncles farm this weekend and do some camping.  Truck definitely handles the weight better, no sway at all, and i didn't even hook up the weight distribution yet.  Need to get an egt gauge installed though, may be next on the list.

Mega camper! I am dreading ours yet excited at the same time. I hope it tows alright.

28ft interior, 36 total length.  Honestly my ideal camper is a lightweight truck camper, but not exactly kid and dog friendly.  First time i towed it i was a little intimidated by how much it swayed and pushed me around.  Weight distribution and sway control hitch helped, still not great.  The longer truck plus dually helps fight the sway.  If we keep this camper long term i plan to add shocks and better suspension parts, I've read it helps a lot.

Finally got the BIG upgrade I've been wanting since buying the truck, new 5" aluminum driveshaft with 1480 upgraded u joint.  No more toasted carrier bearing!  Also caught my first mouse... let him go outside.

How much did that set you back?  I just had to essentially rebuild my driveshaft on my Duramax, but I kept the whole 19 piece driveshaft.  I heard you can go to a solid driveshaft.

It was right at 917, but shipping cost was almost 100 of that due to 84" length.  1410/1480/1550 U joint offered.  You measure and they custom build it, Driveshaft Specialists.  For my dodge, it saved over 35lbs in weight, and is rated to over 1300 HP/2400 TQ.  Only thing to consider is the bigger 5" on the LWB has a speed rating of 100mph, not an issue for my usage here.

Silky smooth acceleration now.  Expensive yes... but it's also an upgrade.  Stronger than stock, less parts to wear out.

In other news,  mega dodge needs mega hitch.  Finally got my curt in and installed this afternoon.

You dont mess around!

Another camping weekend in the books.  Drove about an hour to Deer run rv.  Nice place, had a good time, had to use the heat for first time as it got down to mid 40s.  Thought something may be wrong with truck while towing...i was only hitting 23psi of boost at max engine load.  Did some digging, turns out the 03 early 04 trucks had the he341 turbo, which maxes in the mid 20s.  Later 04 trucks got the he351 which will do over 30.  So yes turbo upgrade is coming lol.  Plan to do manifold and egt probe all at same time.

Finally got around to reinstalling my factory 3rd gen console/ jump seat on the 4th gen seats.  I ended up ordering the 4th gen console brackets, pretty much bolted in.  Only half of it is actually bolted down, didn't feel like drilling through the cab.  I won't be using as a seat (did not put seat belt back in either), just nice to have the storage and arm rest again.

Hauled the teryx to windrock for the weekend with a couple friends.  Visited the prison and moonshine distillery, and had fun riding around the trails.  Nice to finally have a completely rain free wheeling trip. Teryx performed great, no issues... friend broke an axle on his can am though, luckily it was at the end of the second day.
