The Blurple XJ build .

No pictures tonight as it was a late finish , but the elocker is working! Well it works now that we cut off the Eaton plug which was junk and replaced it with male/ female connectors.

The wiring for the dog lights is pulled the lights are bolted in place.

Need to get the exhaust fixed , engine skid installed and oil changed to be on our way. I still need sliders and I?m not sure how to pull that off with such a short timeline. I may call out West and see if someone has some in stock along the way.

I cut the Eaton plug off my elocker when I installed mine too.
It seemed nice until we needed it to work!

Wiring is wrapping up and Kimbo has the visors almost finished.

NIIIIIIICE. Officially Island theme now?
Daughter must be living right. This XJ has turned out awesome.
Islander XJ I guess? Hannah loved Hawaii and for that matter , any beach.

Repurposed an old rear wiper switch into a fog light switch. The wiring is almost wrapped up and ready to go up on the lift. The shifter cover was broken up pretty bad when I pulled it apart to wire the locker switch , so I had to glue it back together as well.

The exhaust is now tucked up as high as it can go and not roast the floor! The muffler barely hangs below the frame rail and its just barely louder than stock . I picked up some 3 inch springs from [member=42]amcjeepman[/member] and I will get them installed tomorrow . Thanks James!
Still need to add some springs to the stock seat , modify the engine skid [member=205]Hard Line Rob[/member] , change the oil , install longer bumpstops and charge the AC. I think thats it? Oh yeah , also have to build the sliders.

3" springs huh?  Did the Blurple XJ outgrow her OMEs, or did you just wear them out?  😀

More prep work today on the Cherokee . We started off with an oil change , it was NASTY!

Once all the old oil was drained Hannah put the plug back in and I helped her get it to the right tightness. She wants to use a torque wrench next time so there is no question about damaging her XJ.

Hannah had a fun time getting the oil filter out and turned so that it only puked a little bit out. I also showed here how you have to oil the seal on the new filter so that it will seal up properly.

Hannah did not like filling the oil! She was convinced she would make a mess so I handled the first quart and a half so that it wasnt so heavy for her. I think she could have filled it from standing on the ground , but she liked the better viewpoint from the stand. She checked the oil , bump started the Jeep a few times and finally started while watching the oil pressure gauge to make sure it caught prime.
She also checked the power steering fluid , brake fluid , transmission fluid and washer fluid. The transmission fluid is definitely not cherry red , though its not burnt either. So we will be changing it tomorrow .  We also charged the AC for the season. It takes a little each year to top it off .

Hannah also loves lights , so we are adding two more flush mount led's into the bumper in lieu of the additional turn signals.

Still have the steering to replace , transmission fluid to change , seat to add springs to , new coil springs, bump stops , make the rocksliders / buy 2" tube and figure out the forward engine skid . It sounds like a lot , but its really starting to come together.

Changed the transmission fluid today. I like the high mileage Valvoline fluid as I have seen it work miracles in old transmissions. I also LOVE my 12volt pump for pumping fluid out of the transmission or anything for that matter. So easy to use and makes for much cleaner fluid changes.
