My 15 year old just bought himself a Jeep!! Kind of a gamble, I bought it from the insurance auction sight unseen... Florida/Georgia Jeep it's whole life. So we will see I suppose.

Moss Green 98. 289k miles, 4.0, 5 Speed, AC, D44 3.73 gears, 4k miles on what look like 31x10.50 BFG's, new top, new seats, Gambler wheels(WOOT WOOT).

Unfortunately his entire cash wad will be blown, so It might have to sit for a while while he collects parts. Anybody want to donate any parts to a first time Jeeper with no money? 😁

Aside from the obvious front clip it needs, here are some items I know he will need then go into wants:

Needs
Radiator overflow bottle
4.0 Fan Shroud
97/98 No Cruise Drivers Airbag
97-06 passenger airbag
Spice passenger airbag cover
97-98 airbag module
Radiator

Wants
Aftermarket rear bumper. @Florpro Uncle Rob you still have that bent rear bumper thing?
Rubi Flares @Dezerttj ?
2 - 1.25" wheel spacers. (I have 2 already)
1" Body Lift. If you had 11 1" pucks I probably have the appropriate bolts
1" MML - any budget spacer kind
1" coil spacers - 4
Sway bar disconnects
Throttle body spacer
Cold air intake
Aftermarket control arms
Anything else cool for a 15 year old's first Jeep?
Aftermarket front fenders (Thats a crazy ask I realize but you never know) old set of MCE flat fenders?

I appreciate it in advance. Follow along as we go on this new journey!!

I've got various suspension and body components, so let me see what I've got available. I do have black front oem fenders, but it might be tough to ship those.

That’s quite the project for a 15 year old, should be fun for y’all.

I’m self taught with everything I’ve done with cars. Funny thing is, I was talking to my sister this week and she said our dad never taught her about cars. She went like 20k miles on an old Acura before she found out cars needed oil changed.

Ready to go into full therapy mode? So I went into cars when I was a teenager as my dad used to have mustangs and had tons and tons of old hot rod magazines. So by the time I was 15/16 and I wanted my dads help but he'd rather sit in his recliner when he got home from work. I mean that was going on well before that, but I think what I was trying to do is get him to engage with me as nothing else previously worked. Anywho, he wanted no part of it so I taught myself everything. Thankfully I was blessed with mechanical aptitude.

Fast forward to my 15 year old. He's grown up working on Jeeps, watching/helping me, and has also been blessed with the same mechanical ability. He has rebuilt several small engine items(lawn mowers, weed eaters, go carts) for our neighbors. This I hope is fun for him.

I wasn't quite as good with my now college aged daughter. She never really wanted to help, but knows how to change her oil, change a tire, do some normal maintenance stuff, and turn wrenches.

Anywho, here Degan is around 5 maybe. First known picture evidence of him wrenching. Once it gets here I'll grab some more "up to date" photos. 🙂

I appreciate you guys and any help you can provide. If you just want to follow along that is fine too, your support in any capacity is welcomed.

Let me know of you want any of this:

* 5x4.5 to 5x5 1.25" hubcentric wheel adapters - Amazon China brand
* Smittybilt raised winch plate
* 17" older dual row LED light bar. No name.
* Amazon trucklite style LED headlights
* Rubicon F&R flares. They've been cut about an inch and the fronts are pretty banged up.

Oh nelly I forgot to put headlights on there! Good call.

Yessir, thank you for looking! He would be interested in the headlights and fender flares. I think your flares look good, and hey, chicks dig body damage? lol

The cat is out of the bag!!

Spotless rust free! D44 is still present. Matching spare stolen in transport or in the auction lot. Nice Bestop seats, nice Bestop top, brand new tires, kicker speakers all around, alpine head unit, b&M shifter, tons and tons of new parts -Ujoints, seals, bushings, steering, control arms, hitch. Someone took great care of it mechanically! I think a lot of the miles came from it being behind a camper as it’s wired as such.

The frame is bent pretty good. A little worse than I hoped but still easily fixable. The paint and body is way worse than I hoped. Still spotless, but it’s going to need painted.

It does need the entire front clip. If I could locate some MCE front flares we’d be doing really well.

Better pics tomorrow before it gets ripped apart.

When you bid on it, does it state "running/non-running"? If so, what's the status there?
Aside from the pics, if it runs there will be a 10 second video of it running. So yes the statuses are, stationary, runs, runs & drives. This one runs and drives(allegedly)

Sounds good, let me figure out how to ship everything and get you a shipping quote.

It was pulled behind a motor home for a time so I don’t know exactly how many real miles it has.

Having a hard time finding any parts, but he’s got my hand me down bumper. Unmatched spare I had laying around for uniformity.

I’ve got my well used Savvy GTS a set of four china brand 1.25” wheel spacers, 2” budget boost and that bent rear bumper. You pay for the ride

Thanks uncle Rob I will hit you up. Y’all notice this nasty like white haze to the paint? Well I had some very old, and broken down, but still kind of working wax that has I don’t know - particles in it but still safe for clear coat. Well I just hit a test spot on the door and that hazy film came off. So, it needs a buff job and would look 1000 times better.
